Why does Adobe think that it is so great that it MUST install an icon on my desktop everytime it goes through one of it's updates? I guess a program that is as piggish as it is doesn't realize that I've deleted the dang icon several times before.

I'm sorry to inform you that Acrobat is just an associated file viewer. It's not a major application that warrants precious desktop space.
