>>>In the August and September 98 issues of FoxTalk, John Petersen presented information to integrate VFP and MS Outlook 97. The articles were to be completed in the October issue with usable classes. However, the October issue was on Integrating ADO and VFP into VFP.

>>>Now to my question. I need to do a user lookup into an address list within Outlook and return an email address if the user name is found. There are some code snippets in the Sept issue to do a lookup for the default folder. How can I specifiy a particular address list AND return the email address?

>>Download the sample code from my website below. One of the samples shows how to add contacts from a table. You can use that to populate the contact manager and give the contacts a category. Then using the form to send outlook email select all people within a category and send email. It's not polished, but is functional and I hope instructional.

>Thanks for the info John but I don't need to *add* contacts to the contact manager. I need to *LOOK UP* names in a specified *address list* and return the email address for the person found. From your example I see how to retrieve the email address but how do I specifiy an address list and *not* the contact folder?

Apparently you're talking about accessing the address book. Look at the hlp file that's on the Office97 CD. You probably should use the finder to locate all hlp files on the cd and then look for the outlook help file. There is a larger on that's not installed that will show you the object model.
