The problem here is what if we're using this procedure on the existing table? We can not start with 1 again.

Also if we would insert the PK ourselves (as the program I work on does), we'll be in trouble again - I haven't thought about this possibility, actually.

Now, what should I do to be able to use Default values, but also allow for manual entry ? I don't see a simple way out now.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
