I feel about it the same way I would feel about an attempt to bar wearing a cross, chai, star of david, etc. as they could be interpreted as symbols of religious brain-washing.

I don't agree with the reasoning for wearing one (although I suppose you could make an analogy to the dress codes of the late 1800's where showing a bare ankle was the sign of a fallen woman) but a law banning it makes zero sense to me.
