>>Yes, seven hundred years ago, when we were kids? Chritianity was very brutal and disgusting in many of it's actions. Have you heard the latest? If you have a son daughter who was shot for demonstating, you have to buy the bullet that killed them in order to get the body back. The price? $3000.00 How disgusting.

>I agree Christianity has mellowed out a bit, but my point is that I'm not sure the kind of brutality you describe is part of Islam, but rather emblematic of any group of fanatics who believe an antrhopomorphic God whispers in their ear, validating their own madness.

I feel that an organzied religion should be stressing a personal relationship between a believer and his/her god. Whether in an organized group or as an individual, believers meet their maker one believer at a time to answer only for their own life. So, it necessarily follows that a personal relationship established with a divine being is what must occur. When an organized religion moves as a unit to impose it's will on others the personal relationship suffers.

In Iran it seems as if the unarmed demonstrators are being beaten into submission by the rulers of the revolution. The Ayatollas should be running the mosques and not the government. Once again it is being proved that governments and religion do not mix well.
I ain't skeert of nuttin eh?
Yikes! What was that?
