Think about it a little. In what other industry can you have a chance of having the exclusivity of a product for about 20 years that the clients can't live without? (literally). Imagine having a pill that cure AIDS and having the exclusivity of the world market for the next 20 years. $$$Cashing$$$!

Think a little about the fact that only 1% of the R&D that is invested in possible cures results in a drug that is for sale. That hardly results in staggering profits.
