All the U.S. media are picking it up now. The L.A. Times and the Associated Press (newspaper syndicate) had it first. I'm pretty sure that 3:15 p.m. timestamp in the excerpt Naomi snipped out of the link I posted is Pacific time, so news of his death just broke 45 minutes ago.

He was never my cup of tea, either, particularly the creepy personal stuff, but stars don't get much bigger.
