I think you have to take workflow analysis out of a VFP specific mentality and more into OOP and RDMS design. Have you looked at Rational Rose or Visual Modeller? Also --- there is a discussion of the CRC analytical method of (Classes-Responsibilities-Collaborations) modeling in Flash's VFP 3 Codebook.
Also, look up some of the more introductory books on UML and OOAD by Grady Booch or Ivar Jacobsen (you can search amazon.com). There are some *very* good references to analytically separating out processes from actors (users).
