Hi Folks. Thanks for all your help.

Doing a :
ADIR(ladir,"C:\temp\*.","D")
seems to work and gives me just subfolders down 1 level, including . and .. which I can work around.

This seems to work without doing a CD or Set Default.
The Sub folders I am interested in will not have a suffix after the dot

Most of replies and threads seemed to suggest that a CD or Set Default would be required.
Am I missing something ?
