Clint Eastwood was a smart guy even then. He had only been in one series, Rawhide, but had his eye on bigger things. When he saw the script he said right away, "It's 'Yojimbo'." The spaghetti westerns launched his career.
He was also into Northern California real estate very early. He owns part of Pebble Beach.
