Strange experience in SQL 2008 when connecting

I have multiple client and server protocols enabled.
But I cant find the reason why whn I try to connect using IP it doesnt work, I always used SQL 2000, and I'm testing the connections in 2008 and it returns me this strange behavior.
I also tryed to connect using other diferrent protocols in the connection string without success.
