>The code I have is from January 2009. The process I finally did get to work opens a separate instance off Word dedicated to editing; the user closes that copy to indicate editing is complete. But this means the document must be saved to disk twice. About 15% of the people can't print the doucments to PDF after they have been saved to disk (it's a network issue or a pdf converter issue but I'm tired of waiting for someone else to fix it!) I want to revise the edit process to pass a reference to the automation instance of Word (with the temporary document open and active), and then prevent Word from Quitting when the user clicks the close box (just unblind the eventhandler and return to the automation process.) Just 2 "little" changes but so far, if one of them works, the other doesn't!

OK, if you say so.
