Any other way to set this up? I'm not using VPM environment, I'm working with the existing application. Data Manager is in the Admin Menu.

I think I may probably fix it in textbox_width.Assign method - may try it here - do you know how can we get a reference to the button from the textbox?

The newsgroup is good, but it means one more forum for me and I already visit too many :)
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
