this error could also happen when a VFP native property has a value that is outside the valid range. Usually this happens when you open a VFP 9 form in older versions.

To find out which property is causing the problem, you could create a copy of the form and then blank the PROPERTIES field record by record starting with record #4. Open the form each time after blanking a record.
