I know the feeling :) My colleague was doing WAIT WINDOW 123 and I said wait haven't you forgotten the STR(), he says no in VFP9 that is not required. Later on I learned that MESSAGEBOX() can also handle values just like WAIT WINDOW, just in case, like me, you missed that too :)
