The "Not a table "error implies its corrupted.
If you have many deleted records or a a large memo file packing the table may help.
Otherwise you have to change the structure of your data.
Are you storing repeated data like addresses, descriptions etc which could be held in a different table and looked up.
Or you could split the file in two horizontally or vertically. So 1st half of the data is in one file 2nd half in another file, or 1st half of each record is in one file 2nd second half is in another file.
