I had that and it did weigh a ton. OTOH it sold for about $700, and that was 25 years ago or close to it. I finally chucked it on one of my moves, along with some other doorstops from that era. OS/2 development kit, anyone? ;-)

>Kind of funny, I was in GoodWill store few months ago and actually bought an unopened dBase III Plus for $4 (still in shrink wrap) just to say I have it. Thing is huge with lots of manuals I guess.

My question to you (I haven't used dBase since dBase III ... LOL) is there anything 'exciting' about this product? Those who are/have used it, do you consider it to be VFP's equal? I'm tired of debating (healthy disagreements) with the individual, so I thought I'd ask (to maintain my sanity) here.

>>>Being a 'Clipper-head', I originally began with Delphi but along the way jumped to VFP. Became infatuated with VFP, I forgot about Delphi and 'other' languages until ORACLE. After reading VFP fading away in the near future, it left me wondering about other xBase products, hence a coworker showed me dBase Plus.

>>>Looks very interesting to say the least.
