I'm taking a look at some code in the Solutions Samples, for monitoring changes to files/folders. The sample is based on the Win32API SHChangeNotifyRegister() function, and I'm concerned it may not work in Vista:

- the help says "Note This function is available through Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Windows Server 2003. It might be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions of Windows."

- I'm finding hints on Google that people are having problems getting it to work on Vista

I don't have Vista here to test - could someone please run the solution sample on Vista32 to see if it works:

- Menu...Task Pane...Solution Samples
- New in Visual FoxPro 9.0...Binding to Windows Message Events...
- Select "File/Folder Shell Events" from the dropdown
- Click on the "Enable Event" option
- In the messagebox, answer "Yes"
- Copy a file into your default VFP folder ( SYS( 5 ) + CURDIR() )
- See if you get a message logged in the Solution Sample

While I need to know about Vista32, it would be interesting to know about Vista64 as well.

Thanks.
Regards. Al
