I've noticed something similar yesterday, with an ordinary checkbox - the PEMs I set (caption, caption_yes and caption_no) just wouldn't stick. Luckily, I still had the code to set them in the command window - but the second time around they were lost again. Then I just stuffed the code into its .init() and that did it.
