The switch for me might not be hard because right now I am part of the team and I still manage. I still code with everyone but part of my job is to oversee the development department. I'm guessing that's not going to change as much as I was originally thinking. Currently I let the lead developers run their own projects and trust them to tell me if they need help If someone isn't a lead I team them up with a lead that should help mentor them on how to run a project. I think I'll just need to adapt that to the SCRUM process.

I really think that if you go through the training (it's a couple of days), you will think of ways to implement it that work for you. It doesn't have to been either/or and neither do all of the processes and rules need to be utilized without modification. However, I think it is a good idea to try the recommended process for a couple of sprints before you make major changes or rule it out.
