That's our process as well (manual testing). Developers may do automated testing, but the qa folks pound the app as users would.

Also for the training, what worked well for us was for to have every single developer and QA lead and manager, and support leads and managers and hardware leads and managers to take the SCRUM Master training. We had support (and participation in the training) from WAY UP the chain. It paid off. The qa folks, etc took SCRUM training, but not SCRUM master training. It is important, if you can swing it, for all developers and managers of other sections involed in the process to take the SCRUM master training though since that role is rotated and the training goes through the entire process from product conception to delivery. It is much easier to get management buy in to the process (not just a verbal buy in but an actual buy in) if they attend the training themselves from someone outside the company.

Previously (in different employments) I've received management directives and then had management on one hand ask you 'You're doing it this way, right?' while at the same time doing everything possible to make it impossible for you to do it that way.

>Currently 100% of our testing is manual. We have no automated testing scripts. So QC does a complete system test at the end (600 hours worth) to make sure everything is still working and nothing got broken along the way.

>>>Thanks. I plan on getting more training. I've read a lot online but seems training should help out a lot. I'm for the switch I just don't think we are going to get a big bang until we also add in test driven design. Our current QC takes over 600 hours to fully test a system release. Part of my resistant is pride in both I'm good at what I currently do (resit change) and I wasn't consulted in the switch pretty much just came top-down. I'm a big believer in build buy-in and not dictate. But since I do think it will be for the better I just need to try and move on :)
