My question is: which of the nations mentioned on that page would you have smashed to prevent 9-11?

Two answers:

1) At a minimum, the U.S. should have attacked Iran and Syria in the 1980's, in reponse to repeated instances of state-sponsored terrorism against the United States. By 1984, both nations had done more than enough to justify a harsh response from the U.S.

3) The Bush administration and Clinton administraton both had a series of major cluster-_____ when it came to looking the other way with other nations mentioned in that list. Even Bush's own "war" in 2001-2002 was more interested in fighting a "just, fair" war, than in trying to actually destroy Al-Q and bin Laden. This long series of mistakes only served to increase the size and scope of Islamic terrorism.
