IMO if we didn't have a persistent pro-Israel bias in the Middle East there would not have been a 9/11.

Mike, I've seen more valid conclusions from freshman who parrot to their parents what they've heard from their Marxist professors, than what I've heard you state on this subject.

Israel is the only country in the middle east with some notion of a solid middle class. While they are a mixed economy, they are the only country in that region of the world with any standard notion of individual rights. I certainly don't agree with everything Israel does, but generally non-Jews who renounce the use of force/aggression have a better standard of living in Israel than in other nations.

But you're effectively saying that we somehow "deserved" to get the crap kicked out of us, because we had Israel as an ally. This is about as gutless a view as I can imagine. We weren't attacked on 9/11 merely because we try to support Israel - we were attacked because we spent decades looking the other way as radical Islamic fundamentalism grew and grew and grew.

If anything, we do not support Israel ENOUGH....evidenced by Obama's sickening stance of disagreeing with Israel wanting a timetable on issues with Iran (a country that wanted to wipe Israel off the map), when Obama himself pushed Mr. Bush hard for a timetable on leaving Iraq. The fact that the majority of U.S. media outlets didn't JUMP on this huge piece of hypocrisy is disgraceful.

I'll fight for your freedom to hold the views you hold (well, I suppose you could call them views) - but some of the worst defenses I've heard for Obama, some of the most baseless conclusions on this subject, have come from you.
