I probably didn't factor all the variables when comparing the prices.

As far as low prices, you might want to look into CompUSA. I get their ad emails mostly advertising notebooks (at some very low prices). Maybe they have the same low prices for desktops too. Here, in Massachusetts, we no longer have their stores; only on-line orders. But maybe they still have stores in your state.
