Hi all

I have recently converted an app from using ODBC connections to using Connect String within the connection to connect to a FireBird backend. The app was always working fine when the Connection was using ODBC never a glitch. Now after using connstrings the app will connect and then it won't the error that it raises is 1466: Connection Handle Is Invalid.

I have checked the value of the connection handle and it always returns a -1. Now on the other hand I can connect that machine from the server and the same app returns valid connection handles.

The FireBird server in this scenario is a WinXP machine and the client is a Win200 Prof. machine. What confuses me is that ODBC never had a problem connecting to the server and now that it uses the same fails. Turning the tables around had it been a network problem the server would not be able to connect to the client.

Please advise.
Regards
Bhavbhuti
