I'm certain that Mike simply commited a faux pas. He's a good guy.

What I don't get is this belief on liberals side that conservatives (or libertarians in my case) are racist. Not to repeat myself but I've been in a "mixed marraige", happily, for almost 20 years. I don't believe in affirmative action or hate crimes not because I'm a racist jerk but because I believe in blind equality. And a lot of conservatives I know think the same.
