>You make it sound simple; here is a free control for VFP SP2. How could we ask for more free things?
>
>It is not that simple. An activeX control is designed to work with Windows and VFP. Let's say that at the time that would mean Windows XP on the desktop and VFP SP2 with Sedna. If there are significant bugs in the control that are fixed in a future version, since the original was free, why would the fix not be free?
>
>Or let's be more reasonable. How about fixes available for reduced cost? But we cannot even get there, because they will not reply whether it is a bug or not.
>
>I understand the point of giving the controls was to get people to buy their products. But I do not see why an upgrade to the controls should cost the same as a new purchase -- what did I gain from their free controls then?
>
>If a client has an old version of our software and has not been on a maintenance plan, then wants to upgrade, we do 2 things. First, we tell them upfront whether the upgrade will help them, and then we charge them a reduced cost to upgrade.

>Further, you cannot even buy the Sedna controls without buying the entire control package, which is very expensive. So even if I said, fine, I'll buy these controls at full retail to get the latest version, there is no way to do that. They only come as a small subset of a much bigger package.
>
>So not so simple. I cannot buy a current version of these controls because they have hooked me into a much bigger package, and even if I wanted to they will not confirm whether it will have a fix for my issues.

It is interesting that the Sedna controls are working exactly as I expected for me, and not for you. Is it possible that you are using them differently than the help file suggest, and it causes a problem at your end? There are many users of these controls and you seem to be the first one that feels the need to contact their support.
