I am pulling data from a non-xBase app that uses dbfs to store data. The dbfs are 2.x dbfs (I can read them using FPD 2.6). The vendor has updated the app and I can no longer read one of the tables ("exam.dbf is not a table" says VFP). The vendor has not been real helpful so far in helping figure out where the problem lies.

The VFP Help says the error message means that the dbf header has issues. Is there anything out there that will tell me exactly what the problem with the header is?

I have looked at the dbf using a hex viewer. To my untutored eye the dbf is a tad funky but looks like a dbf. Byte 0 has an F5 in both the dbfs I can read and in the dbf I cannot read. I do not see an F5 in the VFP documentation on the dbf File Structure. The last update field in the header is 6D 07 16. The time stamp on the dbf is 7/23/09. 6D is hex for 109. I have the 6D on dbfs that VFP and FPD will accept in a USE and in the dbf that is rejected by both VFP and FPD.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
