>Hi Michelle,
>Currently mapping is done with ArcInfo, Idrisi and Erdas. Sometimes I need to transfer data to them, this is generally easier. Sometimes I try to decode their code and map in VFP (using line, box etc) and really hard. I learned that a "version" is available by your post so no chance to work with yet. VB translation cumbersome but generally not much hard (some are above my head if ever possible). Eval version at ESRI site ?

At www.esri.com, go to software, then Map Objects. There's a 90 day evaluation version there, along with sample data and VB5 examples.

I've found 3 people willing to help that have used MO with VFP. I'll share anything I learn with you. Getting the map into a form is easy. Just drop in the Active-X control. Getting it to do anything is a little harder, but not bad once you know the syntax. From Gary Axtell, I got an example that draws a colourful map of the US, with the colours, I think, based on population. Nancy Folsom is going to send me code to get it to pan and such. (I hope I didn't butcher your names, guys. :))

There's a third person that answered me on the MO discussion group that I haven't talked to, yet.

Maybe we should form a MO/VFP user group... :)

-Michelle
