Ok, so what is the equivalent to the 'House of Commons' in Canada? For a bill to become law, does it have to pass 'two houses' and get signed off by the Prime Minister? And, if so, how do the 'two houses' represent the people if they were not chosen by the people?

I apologize for the ignorance, but I did learn this in school, but I don't remember.
