>> None of the projects I've been have decided to keep a third party framework because of the tremendous overhead.

>That's kind of funny coming from you. When I spoke to your boss, Luigi, at DevCon, there were three primary things he was unhappy with about LandPro. The first was the 64MB of RAM that it required due to the overhead of the framework. The 2nd and 3rd were how much money it cost him and how much time it took to develop because he had to foot the bill for the framework development and wait for the framework to be developed.

>> Not really, if they're hot shots, why don't I see any high level frameworks out there for sale? None of the frameworks I've heard about or the ones I've seen would be a good one to use for developing a large 10+ meg exe with a massive database.

>Codebook, VFE and Codebook for Mere Mortals all meet the criteria you've mentioned for a "high level" framework. Basically, all of your criteria comes down to separation of the business rules from the user interface, which is hardly earth shattering. The size of an .EXE for an application built from a framework has nothing to do with the "high levelness" of the framework. A large .EXE can be equally indicative of poor class design, large amounts of duplicate code, excessing subclassing etc...

>I'm sure all of the framework makers can tell you stories about people using their frameworks to access massive databases. I know we've got customers that have VFE apps that access Terra bytes of data and others that have ASP and Java front-ends to their VFE applications.

Very well then, Mike is there a web-site I can go to to get a little more info about VFE? I think I may have been confusing your framework with another one that's out there.
