>>>>>>GE is in bed with Obama? What do you mean by that?
>>>>>>
>>>>>>Go watch the news - but the main stream media and CNN will not give you the entire story on this one <s>.
>>>>>
>>>>>OK, I read the articles. That's hardly being in bed with Obama. Not even in the same house. Here is the earth-shaking accusation: GE has spent a lot of lobbying money and has tried to position itself to benefit from pending legislation. Wow! Stop the presses! This is what every large corporation does, all the time. Was Obama linked to GE in these articles (the first two) even once? Talk about guilt by suggestion.
>>>>>
>>>>>The third link Tracy posted was from the NY Post -- a sensationalist tabloid and proud of it -- saying CNBC was urged to stop attacking Obama so much. Allegedly. Even if true, there is no link to Obama or his administration.
>>>>>
>>>>>Do those real news sources you follow have anything more compelling than this to show there is anything shady going on between Obama and GE?
>>>>
>>>>Here's a fact: list the folks on Obama's economic advisory board.
>>>
>>>Without looking it up, I can predict there are a number of people on that advisory board. I imagine most if not all of them are from large institutions. Does that mean any of them are "in bed with" Obama? Good grief.
>>
>>Let's add up come of the pieces:
>>
>>1) Tarp was for buying toxic assets from banks but was modified to include GE Capitall which is not a bank but a financial services company is not primarily involved in consumer credit. Giving them the money does not lossen up the credit market for consumers. GE qualified only because they own two very small banks and it's a tiny (barely quantifiable) of their holdings.
>>2) Cap and Trade - GE setup a joint venture.
>>3) Private, Public investement - Just months after GE received bailout money, GE was chosen as one of the nine companies chosen to be a buyer and only has to pay 1/12th of the cost with the rest being paid by the government.
>>4) GE's healthymagination is in charge of the national medical database. (There is more to this, but note that GE is not one of HIMSS's top 10 EHR's.
>>5) GE sits on the economic advisory board.
>>
>>That's enough for now. Just with those 5 points, I'd say they are pretty cozy. Not touching the rest - media, etc and more that would take too much time and I don't think any more would change your view or even open it up to the possibility anyway.
>
>My mind is open to the possibility and I would change my view if there was any proof of a conspiracy or illegal actions. This is all in the category of "sounds fishy to me."
>
>What is it you think Obama got for helping out GE Capital?
>
>Contrary to what you think, I do not believe Obama is infallible. (Just the other day I said I thought he condemned the Cambridge police department and/or officer Crowley too quickly). But the bar is set a lot higher than this. This kind of speculation and innuendo is about two inches off the ground.

When you've not got much to hold onto politically you grasp at straws. The Republican right know they are nowhere for a couple of years so they come up with rubbish.

Do you think maybe Obama is part of secret Jewish/Chinese conspiracy. I'm sure I can find a secret letter if I look hard enough.
