>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>This should be where I search all your posts for evidence of sugary drink consumption.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>Whats Gatorade ? sounds like something I'd use to unblock a drain.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>I drink unsweetened teas (hot and cold), coffee, juices (very sweet actually and may get taxed), and every now and then lemonade which does have sugar in it.
>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>I was talking to a dietician who told me that people should really stay away from juices. Instead of drinking orange juice, eat an orange. It's way better for you. She is someone I trust. Feet firmly on the ground. When I started on my weight loss campaign, she told me not to get crazy. She actually said, "If you get cravings to eat 5 cookies, only eat 3".
>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>I drink water, milk - 1% fine filtered (mmmmmmm), and tea. Often I drink water and tea at the same time. ;)
>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>I've never been a fan of soft drinks. Even in my much much younger days, I didn't drink soft drinks. I did however, from time to time, drink 'mix'.
>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>I did become terribly addicted recently to Werther's Originals, but my dentist told me to lay off or he'd have to kill me. I switched to Werther's sugarless, and they are actually very good believe it or not (normally I hate fake sugar in things because of the aftertaste, but these are great - caramel mint, caramel coffee, and regular).
>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>Yeah, I've read and heard numerous times about how fattening fruit juices are :o) They are so good though! I eat fruit when I can, but I like cranberry juice and I'm sorry, but I just don't care to eat cranberries! :o)
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>Cranberries and I are ancient enemies. I hate the stuff - berries and juice. They are another of Gods little jokes on the human race (like brussel sprouts). "Here, let's put these down there and see what they do with them. Oh my Self, look at that, they're eating the stuff! Bwaaaaahaaaahaaaa, I can't stand it."
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>Oddly enough, I like brussels sprouts. The only vegetable I can't stand is beets.
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>Oh, yes. I forgot beets. I guess they are so far from properly being considered edible, that I just didn't think of them. My mother says she likes beets (cranberries too), but I'm sure it's just a running gag she's been perpetrating for the last 90 years.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>Sounds like you guys have never had beets prepared well. I'm not much of a vegetable eater, but in the last few years, I've learned to appreciate fresh beets (canned are horrible). I use them in soups and stews and stir-fries.

>>>>OK. I will give that a try. I am on a bit of a kick with salads (as a meal) with lots of colors and textures. Don't snicker, it helps me eat what I know is good for me. My id wants double cheeseburgers and loaded pizzas all the time.
>>>
>>>No snickering here I like salads (really like avocado and tomato mixed together and rocket) and luckily I've never been a burger fan I don't think I've ever eaten a cheeseburger. I like pizza but I make my own. And where I live now there is an excellent fish and chip shop just round the corner so I have to ration that.
>>
>>Good thing the only good fish and chip place here is nearly 10 miles away or else it would be my choice for every meal :o) My daily breakfast is yogurt or a banana and lunch is typically a home-made salad with everything under the sun (I go every week to stock up on the same ingredients): romaine, cabbage, spinach, tomatoes, blueberries, walnuts, ground flaxseed, grated cheese, cucumbers, carrots, snap peas, fresh raw brocoli or cauliflower bits, and my favorite: Paul Newman olive oil and vinegar dressing :o)
>
>I'll pass on the flaxseed and blueberries. Are your fish and chips like ours ?

Probably not, although Long John Silver's looks like them :o) The one I go to was once a long john silver's but they left and a couple took it over and renamed it and do their own recipies that are very good :o)
