>>>Hi,
>>>
>>>I am frustrated that I can't get something that should be simple.
>>>
>>>I am trying to create a recovery disk with Norton Ghost 14 (newly purchased). First, I formated a DVD disk.
>>>Then I go to the Tasks -> Create Recover Disk.
>>>But when I am prompted to specify Symantec Recovery Disk Location I get message "invalid location...". I tried to specify the DVD drive letter (e.g. E:) - no good. I tried to specify a folder on the external drive - no good. What do they (norton ghost) expect in the selection of the Recovery Disk Location?
>>>
>>>Thank you in advance for your help

>>I have Version 10 and can create a Recovery CD or floppy. You can also use the product CD. I would start here for help:

>Thank you, Tracy. It should be just as easy in Version 10 as in 14 but something is not working. I will review the help link. But, do I understand correctly that when you create a recovery disk on your computer you simply insert a blank formated CD into your drive?

Version 10 is quite a bit different than version 14.
What you're trying to create is the boot disk that norton will need in the event you want to do a restore. First off I don't think you format DVD or CD disks - try doing it without formating. If that doesn't work - is there an .ISO file somewhere on the Norton Ghost DVD you bought? If there is you can use any image burning software to copy that .ISO file to a DVD.
