The FAQ shouldn't apply as i am printing the report from a form but it doesn't have a grid on the form. the grid is separate from the report - it just has similar structure (and the same problem).

The report is created by a select statement into a free table and then created with a "create report" command.
The grid is created with an create sql view command.

as far as copying, i copied the entire program back to my computer (it is in one directory). i didn't run reindex on my computer - not sure what that means or if it is necessary.
