In Canada, if we disagree with what medicare offers as a treatment, we have the right and freedom to pay for any operation we want and to have the operation done in any country we choose.

We are not victims of medicare, we are users of the system provided. Like you, I used to fight hard against medicare. But, now that it is established, I think it's great. It won't hurt you. It will make life even better.

I respectfully disagree. IMHO, National health insurance works well as long as you don't have any serious health problems. The minute you do, it falls apart.
