Hi Paul,
I've seen exactly this with big tables (# of records). It's all connected with SMB (as I determined by looking at the SMB actions under Advanced information in Filemon). We ended up mandating the use of Terminal Services or Citrix, with the tables on the same server as the clients. SMB isn't used in this scenario, and the problems went away. This was an interim solution, of course, and we are now using the same app hitting against SQL Server, where the SMB issue goes away.
We tried all the tricks with registry settings etc. to see if we could make it better, and none of them worked, fwiw.
hth,
Hank

>Does anyone have any information on why a network would be slow when two or more users are running a Foxpro application at the same time? In other words, the first user starts the application which opens some tables and queries them—no slowness. Then when another user starts the application the user will experience slowness opening and querying.
