>>>Microsoft has announced this afternoon that Windows 7 has been released to manufacturing.
>>>
>>>Looks like the 7600 build that got leaked was indeed the RTM version....

>>
>>I waited for this to release rather than upgrading my laptop from Vista to XP.
>>
>>Now I see Microsoft is continuing their downward slide with new programs not being compatible with existing MICROSOFT programs.
>>
>>I ran the upgrade advisor (beta even though Windows 7 is RTM) and it told me I would have trouble with Visual Studio 2008. Of course - that's a current Microsoft product - naturally a new Microsoft product won't work with a current Microsoft product.
>>
>>I figured I'd get past that using a virtual machine if needed, so..

>>Intel PROSet/Wireless
>>Microsoft SQL Server 2008
>>Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 *
>>ATI CATALYST Install Manager *
>>ATI Catalyst Control Center *
>>GoogleToolbar
>>SigmaTel Audio Control Panel
>>
>>Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - not compatible with Windows 7 eh? Very nice. Very nice.
>>
>>Google toolbar is not installed on my machine - never has been. I checked throught the registry and find no references either.

>>It's too bad Microsoft is no longer functional. I really liked their products for a long time.

>>
>>What crap Microsoft.

>That's an issue with the upgrade method. Except for the SigmaTel Audio thing, I'm running all those programs on 7 so they do indeed work. SQL Server 2008 installs just fine - but it gives you warning when you do so. This fix is SP1 for it.

It will not let me upgrade because of those. They aren't just warnings - they stop the upgrade and your choice is to cancel.
