>>What I do here is $500 a day plus expenses.
>>The $500 'per day' is only billed on days that I'm onsite.
>>If it's 3 or more days thn I cover the airfare.
>>...and of course I try to be rasonable about the expenses. i.e., Don't stay in $700 a nite hotel rooms and eat $300 meals...but natuarally not staying in the getto and eating at McDonald's either...hahaha
>>Also, in my case I don't change the rates based on the number of people I'm training - if its one person at a desk or 50 people in a conference room the rate remains the same.
>>
>>With all that being said, my *guess* is that I'm doing this cheaper than most.

>Yes, your rate for a day of training is less than for many people I know. And the rest is very reasonable. Thank you for your input.

I got another response on this question from Eric - this sounds like too much

I would simply charge a flat rate that covers all costs, plus a little
Exposing the internal costs to a client is a mistake.
Sometimes, charging MORE equals more business
Because price is equated with quality in people's minds.
A drugstore in California raised the prices on its generics that it was selling next to the national brands... and it sold more of them.
If 2 days off work + airfare comes to $1,687.23 then charge $2500
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
