They were doomed. Mlekoprodukt and [upper z caron]itoprodukt were my customers, and I had a chance to taste the unformatted cheese slices and the bun... well, can't say "respectively" here because they didn't earn any respect from me. From Mc they probably did, because both products were for Mc... and nobody liked them. The cheese was almost OK, if you forget that it was the reprocessed leftovers from their other cheeses, which weren't so pasty, could actually be cut into slices without dragging after the knife, could be pinched on a toothpick and lifted, no matter how thin they were cut, and which had an actual percentage of milk fat printed on the label. Try to find any cheese nowadays where it says so on the label. Nor were the buns to our taste - "it sticks to your teeth" is pretty much a terminal critique to any pastry.

When Mc opened, I went there only once... waiting for a colleague for about five minutes. Didn't take anyhting. My (former) colleague Cvetko had a kiosk with perfect pljeskavice just 30m down the street, and within a radius of 100m there were at least three other places - Ciki by the Mali most (little bridge), for one. And then the places with burek :)...

BTW, when Mc was opening, there was a significant pressure from SPS (Sloba's party) and JUL (his wife's party) to get it to open, regardless of technical flaws (like using plain unfiltered city water for coke - we know what that water was like... not that it hurt us, but it would never pass any serious inspection). Now I wonder how come that McDonalds was in cahoots with these two parties... tsk, tsk...
