You can easily do an application such as the one you discribe in VFP. It is probably easier using VFP9 but it isn't necessary. I also agree that it would potentially be nicer looking in VB.Net which you can get for free but still you can do it easily enough in VFP.
Can you tell us a little about the design of your interface? Are you going to have an image of a truck on your form and let the user drag shipments from a list and drop them into the trucks manifest? Or, are you going to display the trucks on a map?
