>VFP 9 applications are fine under Windows 7, but the question is - is it better to port VFP apps from lower Win versions to 7, until 7 will be perfect. On my glance, better to stay on Windows Vista (or XP).
Two points: it will never be perfect. Good enough is the best we can hope for.
Second, the Vista is, under the hood, Windows 6.0; W7 is 6.1. As experience tells us, nothing even numbered, dot-zero, coming from Redmond, was any good. Dot-one is worth a try. Sometime by SP2 they get it usable.
From the review I saw (but then, it was from AOL), the user interface in 7 has some nice features. Some time in the future, I may even try to use Windows Explorer again. Tried yesterday on a remote machine (WS2003, IIRC), and I felt like I had two left hands.
