.NET does not have an object/class hierarchy like VFP, but a display hierarchy. When adding an object to the Controls collection in .NET, the added control is displayed inside the control that owns the Controls collection. Unlike in VFP this is not a fixed unchallengeable relationship. You can easily move a textbox from one form to the other by merely adding it to the new form's Controls collection.
