In the beginning I saw the solution as "the solution", the thing I need to build. Now a solution is just the collection of the minimum number of projects; usually one main project and a few accompanying projects such as tests. It's one of the rare occasions where the localized name is actually more appropriate than the English name. In German a solution file is called a project folder (Projektmappe).
Hi,
I started the same way and am moving in the same direction. In some ways 'Project Folder' is a better name than 'Solution' - neither seems quite right but I must admit I can't think of a better one. IAC, once you understand what it's really doing I guess the name doesn't matter :-}
