Thank you, Jos, for your feedback on Windows 7 RC. I bought a new HP Laptop with Vista Home Premium. I will receive a free upgrade to Windows 7.0 Home Premium. I was told that Laptop/Notebook sales suddenly dropped off when Microsoft put out the word that Windows 7 would be released in latter October. So, some kind of a deal was made with Microsoft to permit a free upgrade to WIndows 7.0.

I did expect that Visual FoxPro would work okay, but wasn't sure. I'll soon know for sure.

Thanks,

Cecil

>I have download the Windows 7 RC and installed under a VM Ware virtual machine. VM Ware picks it up as Vista and all our VFP9/SP2 apps work OK including the various 3rd party OCX controls we use. As far as I can see this is Vista with some visual changes but I dont know what has been done under the hood. VFP9 apps look good, can use the visual styles and otherwise appear the same as under Vista.

>Personally I am not sure what the motivation would be to upgrade. Usually I only end up with a new Windows version when I buy a new computer and it is pre-installed. Uprgading / reinstalling existing machines seems like such a waste of time to me.
