Thanks for the link. But I don't have a problem there - my VS2008 is working well with other local VSS servers. The choice of source control provider in this instance is not mine to make and I don't think the client would see TFS as warranted. I can access their system via VPN (or TS) if neccessary (and do occasionally use it to get an earlier version of something from VSS) but it would be nice to have this ability directly from VS.
I guess what annoys me most if that VS 'File/Source Control/Launch Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (Internet)' menu option - which is ALWAYS DISABLED !!!
