Interesting, my perception was that for Win7 there were not so many MS promises (as opposed to the many ones during Longhorn/Vista development, including the broken ones.)
However, while "Windows 7" certainly is a marketing name, the O/S itself looks quite good to me - actually seems to work faster than Vista, and to require less hardware resources, and seems to be more reliable. My first impression is that it would have deserved a version number "6.5" < s >
