>>Are you sure you will be up for travel and an energetic conference two weeks later? My father in law was still shuffling around. Don't sabotage your recovery, OK?

>Thanks! I'll see how it goes a few days before that..... driving and all.... Doc wants me up and about Day of Surgery, then 7 days later they pull the Catheter (ouch!), and I am suppose to RESUME normal activties (wink, wink.... hehehe)... so maybe I will be ready for the road trip.... if not, I will cry!! (It is amazing how fast people recover from robotic surgery!)

>>Here is one of my random thoughts. If you decide not to go, maybe stray copies of Windows 7 etc. will fall off the back of a truck and somehow land in your mailbox. From my time in that orbit I know there are many people here who get regular shipments from Microsoft, much of which they don't need. I would do it myself if I were still a Microsoft speaker or MVP.

>Hey, you never know what lands in your mailbox!! You ought to see some of the things I'm getting now since I am scheduled for the surgery!!!

When your doctor briefed you on your surgery, did he tell you what the typical recovery time is and specifically how long before you can drive? I've had surgeries where I really could not drive for 2 weeks (although I could ride in a car) and others where I could drive home from the hospital.
