Turn it off and on? You can just close it, can't you?
You mention that one of the classes is cursoradapter. I have not tried it on cursoradapters (and have never even used them). Thus, I can't say what special considerations there might be for them. I wouldn't be surprised if something isn't going on behind the scenes there ....
