I think you are right about getting the basics down. I bought the book tonight from Borders called "C# for Programmers" by Deitel. I ran into a C# programmer near the computer books area and he gave me a borders discount barcode for 30% off, so the $65.00 book (with Arnold's new sales taxes) ended up being about $45.00.
I'll do as you advise, Craig.
>Don't do LINQ to SQL yet. Concentrate on more basic stuff and get it down first. There are two things to look at, untyped datasets and typed datasets. Once you understand those and can use them, move onto LINQ to SQL. After that, Entity Framework and nHibernate.
>>I've had several classes on C#, probably about 3 of them, meaning 3 semesters, but that was a while back. I've never had any projects at any clients sites or on any projects using C#. I wonder if someone could advise me on what component to use for data access? Maybe component isn't the right word. Now, I am not a complete novice, but pretty close to it, so realize that I am also a bit rusty.
